Trump with unidentified sycophant … Says he’s ready to unveil proposal, but no details about how it would work or how much it would cost – plus, he’s conditioning it on Scrooge Mc Price confirmation as HHS Secretary …
So now Trump has been quoted everywhere as saying he’s going to make possible “insurance for everybody” …
What are the main relevant facts here ???
1) Mainstream RPB refusal to spend for public and general health purposes … or “big” deficits for anything but military … let alone a combination of the two …
2) The fact that if this fails, Trump and his followers won’t be able to blame it on the evidently weak-as-hell Dems … or the Jews … or anybody else
3) He is explicitly conditioning his “big reveal” on the confirmation of Scrooge Mc Price as HHS secretary
4) Price is the author of the most detailed — and viciously anti-poor / working-class — “plan” to “replace” Obamacare … and, finally,
5) Price has also been outed as one of a few “select” RPB operatives to be the beneficiary of a sleazy bio-tech insider trading “arrangement” … see previous post …
Given all this, it’s almost impossible to imagine what Trump can conceivably come up with that can satisfy all these different requirements …
Here’s the only thing I can imagine:
He’s going to propose the same trick with the health insurance mega-corps
as he wants to do with the infrastructure contractors —
massive tax breaks …
The question is what he’s going to be asking for in return …
And this is where we’re going to find out exactly how corrupt Trump and his pals like Price are …
In the best possible scenario, he makes the credits conditional on hitting percentage-based enrollment targets
AND sets a limit on how much they can charge …
I can actually imagine Trump proposing something like that …
But it’s IMPOSSIBLE to see someone as vicious as Price accepting price ceilings …
If it’s tax credits plus MORE gifts for all the usual “Big Med” players —
insurance companies / hospitals / doctors / PHARMA —
then we’ll know that Trump and his cronies are indeed as corrupt as they appear …
And we can take solace only in knowing that he’s likely to blow up the whole world with his insane foreign policy rhetoric
BEFORE any of the health insurance nightmare can fully unfold … 😀 …
